SOLD—Lacquerware Mortar & Pestle
Vintage—Lacquerware mortar & pestle sparkles with hand-painted silver and gold flowers. Handmade in Kashmir (this is NOT Suffering Moses, just that style). Papier mâché & brass mortar, 3.25” tall, 5” diameter. Shows signs of having been well-used and loved (see photos). Several paint chips on all sides (see photos). Enameled surface is pulling away slightly from brass in one area near the lip (see photo). Brass is in good condition, heavy patina with some spots. Good condition.
