SOLD--Spring Flowers Altar Set

TOOLS

• Offering Bowl—Antique—Cloisonné bowl in peony pattern, 4.5” diameter, 2.125” tall. Bowl has been used hard over the years—we stripped white paint spots from it, but there are still several chips and dings in the enamel. The gold has worn off the base, leaving only copper, and there is a chunk of enamel missing from the interior (see photos). Base is teal blue with “China” written on it and four scratches that reveal the copper beneath. The bowl is still beautiful and usable—you won’t feel bad for using it with black sand and charcoals.

• Athame—Vintage—Ivory-celluloid-handled knife, 3.75” total length, 2” blade. Some patina on metal but in very good condition and recently sharpened. Stamped USA at base. Comes with original leather belt sheath, originally white, but now ivory or light grey. The leather has been cleaned and conditioned and is still in good condition, just well-worn. Can still be threaded onto a belt for use.

• Pendulum/Crystal—New—Jade vajra/dorje on a black cord. Small jade beads inside each half. New condition.

• Pendulum Board—Handmade—Created by Two Moons Craftworks for this set, woodburning design by Green Witch Vintage. Made of quarter-inch Baltic birch plywood, 8” diameter. New.

• Tray—Vintage, possibly antique—Cloisonné plate/ashtray in peony pattern, 3.75” diameter, part of a set that includes the matchbox holder. Date of manufacture estimated 1897-1921 but cannot confirm (no marks on base). Some chips and flaws in the enamel, probably due to being used as an ashtray (see photos). Fair condition.

• Bell—Vintage—Brass bell with shell/ruffle design, 3.125” diameter at base, 6.75” tall. Nice patina, original clapper in place, nice tone. Very good condition.

• Chalice—Used, possibly vintage—Pink and clear glass flute with Depression Glass style etching, 9.5” tall, 2.5” diameter at mouth. No chips, cracks, or flaws. Excellent condition.

• Box—Antique—Cloisonné cigarette holder in peony pattern, 3” diameter at mouth, 3.5” tall with lid. Manufactured between 1897-1921 with “China” on teal base. The brass has developed a nice patina and there are no large chips or pits in the enamel. It can hold all the vials included with the Accessories Set. Good condition.

• Matchbox—Vintage, possibly antique—Cloisonné matchbox holder in peony pattern, 2. 375” by 0.75”by 1.5”. Part of a set that includes the tray/ashtray. Includes a vintage cardboard matchbox inserted inside (with a cool nautical scene—see photos) and the original matches (they still light). Date of manufacture estimated 1897-1921. Nice patina on the brass and two dings in the enamel on one side (see photos). Fair condition.

• Box—Used, possibly vintage—Cloisonné egg with stand, 2” diameter at widest point, 3” tall when assembled (sans stand). Date of manufacture estimated withing the last thirty years. Like new condition.

• Altar Cloth—Vintage—Pink cotton hanky with white embroidered flower trim, 11.25” by 10.75”. Small tear (approximately 0.125”) on one side where original price tag was removed. Previously unused. Good condition.

• Spoon—Vintage—White ceramic Noritake condiment spoon/mini-ladle with hand-painted peony pattern, 1.75” diameter bowl, 5” total length. Very little visible wear—excellent condition.

• Bottle—Vintage—Wheaton green octagonal bottle, 2.25” diameter, 5.5” tall. There is some mineral staining on the interior of the bottle. We have cleaned it using every technique available (see our blog on cleaning vintage glass) but have not been able to remove these spots—the appear to be permanent, and do not come off in any liquid added to the bottle. Comes with new cork. Good condition.
